ஏப்ரல் 29,2016,

தென்காசி தொகுதி அதிமுக வேட்பாளர் எஸ்.செல்வமோகன்தாஸ் பாண்டியன், தென்காசி தொகுதி தேர்தல் அலுவலர் செ.வெங்கடேஷிடம் வேட்புமனு தாக்கல் செய்தார். 

தென்காசியை தலைமையிடமாக கொண்டு தனிமாவட்டம் அமைக்கவும், தென்காசியில் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி அமைக்கவும், ஸ்ரீபராசக்தி மகளிர் கல்லூரியை பல்கலைக்கழகமாக  மாற்றவும் நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்வேன் என்றார் அவர்.

தென்காசி தொகுதி அ.தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் செல்வ மோகன்தாஸ் பாண்டியன் நேற்று தென்காசி அருகே உள்ள சுப்பிரமணியபுரம், அழகப்பபுரம், வேதம்புதூர், அய்யாபுரம், குத்துக்கல்வலசை, இலஞ்சி ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் திறந்த ஜீப்பில் சென்று வாக்கு சேகரித்தார். அவருடன் வசந்தி முருகேசன் எம்.பி. இரட்டை இலை சின்னத்தில் வாக்கு சேகரித்தார்.

பிரசாரத்தில் ஒன்றிய செயலாளர் சங்கரபாண்டியன், இலஞ்சி செயலாளர் மயில்வேலன் உள்பட பலர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

 

தென்காசி தொகுதி தேர்தல் அலுவலகம் திறப்பு : அ.தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் பிரசாரம் தொடக்கம்

ஞாயிறு, ஏப்ரல் 10,2016,

தென்காசி சட்டசபை தொகுதி தேர்தல் தென்காசி வாய்க்கால்பாலம் அருகே உள்ள இசக்கி மகால் வளாகத்தில் திறக்கப்பட்டது. தொடர்ந்து தென்காசி சட்டமன்ற தொகுதி அ.தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் செல்வ மோகன்தாஸ் பாண்டியன் நேற்று காலை 11 மணிக்கு பிரசாரத்தை தொடங்கினார்.

முன்னதாக ஊத்துமலையில் உள்ள முத்துராமலிங்க தேவர் சிலைக்கு மாலை அணிவித்தார். பின்னர் மறுகாலங்குளம் வடகாசி அம்மன் காளிஸ்வரி கோவிலில் சாமி கும்பிட்டார். அங்கிருந்து பிரசார வாகனத்தில் இரட்டை இலைக்கு வாக்கு கேட்டு பிரசாரத்தை தொடங்கினார்.

அதனை தொடர்ந்து அவர் சீவலசமுத்திரம், தங்கம்மாள்புரம் ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் வாக்கு சேகரித்தார். பின்னர் சோலைச்சேரியில் காமராஜ் சிலைக்கும், சுரன்டையில் காமராஜர், அண்ணா, எம்.ஜி.ஆர். சிலைகளுக்கும் மாலை அணிவித்தார். பின்னர் தென்காசி மலையான் தெருவில் உள்ள முத்துராமலிங்க தேவர் சிலைக்கும், நன்னகரத்தில் உள்ள அம்பேத்கர் சிலைக்கும், குற்றாலத்தில் உள்ள அண்ணா சிலை, பாவூர்சத்திரத்தில் உள்ள காமராஜர் சிலைகளுக்கும் மாலை அணிவித்தார்.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் ஆலங்குளம் யூனியன் துணை தலைவர் வீரப்பத்திரன், பஞ்சாயத்து தலைவர்கள் கருப்பசாமி, முருகையா உள்பட பலர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

History of Tirunelveli District

Nellaiappar TempleTirunelveli also known as Nellai and historically (during British rule) as Tinnevelly, is a city in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of the Tirunelveli District. It is the sixth largest municipal corporation in the state. Tirunelveli is located 700 km (430 mi) southwest of the state capital, Chennai and 58 km (36 mi) away from Thoothukudi.

Tirunelveli an ancient city is about 2000 years old and is a town of hoary tradition. Tamirabarani River flows here gives pride to the city. Tirunelveli is the capital of Tirunelveli District. This district was formed on 1st September 1790. . It is twin city namely Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai.

Industries in Tirunelveli include administrative services, agricultural trading, tourism, banking, agricultural machinery and educational services. The city is an educational hub of southern Tamil Nadu, with institutions such as Tirunelveli Medical College, the Veterinary College and Research Institution, Tirunelveli Law College and the Government College of Engineering. Tirunelveli is administered by a municipal corporation, established in 1994 by the Municipal Corporation Act.

The freedom fighters of 18th to 20th century Veera Pandiaya Kattabomman, Pulithevan Veeran AzhagumuthuKone V.O. Chidambaram Veeran Sundaralingam Subramania Bharathiar and Vanachinathan were born in Tirunelveli District. Hence Tirunelveli District was placed first for freedom struggle to quit the British dynasty. This district is famous for palm sugar candy and palm leaf handicrafts.
